Star Is Born Baby Shower

Evaluation

Like most teachers of second cycle of secondary school, I anticipate the arrival of the education reform in our grade level, starting September 2007. Some of my colleagues have attended training by the MELS to prepare for next year. Most of them return from their training with only one general comment: the evaluation.

My colleagues and I - I include myself here since I was teaching in a secondary re last year - have worked all year on assessment and more specifically on how to communicate these results to parents (newsletters). But MELS has fashioned a new method of communicating with parents.

What troubles me a bit is that this new method should be applied from the next ballot and it also occurs in the middle of the current step. This will require a fair amount of work for teachers, who already had a little difficulty in appropriating the current bulletin

Instructions For Playmobil Rock Castle

Finally finished

I already talked here, but I finally finished the story of Winston Churchill the Second World War.

This is a literary work 6 volumes, nearly 700 pages each, which recount the ups and downs of the British Prime Minister during the years preceding the Second World War , and the main events thereof.

A work that took me nearly 8 months of readings, but were very intensémment filled. This reading helped me better understand all the workings of the political life of this important period of the twentieth century .

A reading I can recommend to an amateur political strategists.

Will Irs Send Cp2000 Audit Letter Same Tax Year

Hours A Day Working

I do not do as much as him, but it is possible to see how the work of teachers is underestimated.

In fact, in recent years, especially school boards, teachers must be present 32 hours per week within the school.

For my part, I believe to be delivered to approximately 35 hours per week of attendance in school from 8 am to 16h, with my lunch. And all this without counting the work done at home in the evening. What other trades done 35 hours in the office more than a dozen at home?

Not that I put my job in question, but I'm just saying that society should recognize the work done by teachers of this world.

Rugby Rookie Initiation Rookie Initiation Ideas?

The fitness test

An article in La Presse , highlights something that emerges from my reading here , and there is still . Even Francis speaks here.

This is the report of a study (which I can not find the source) from the University of British Columbia (UBC ) on the declining health of young people. The comparison is made with today's youth and others from 25 years ago. In general, young people who now rank 50th in the 86th were rank in 1981.

A fact that comes out of the study is that young people walk much less than before. A phenomenon that can be observed at the exit of some schools. While some school boards have increased the minimum distance for school transport, one option might be to let children walk to school, a certain proportion of parents decided to replace the school bus, thus reducing the number steps that young people in one day.

can worry about the health of young people, but it should also be noted that this is a societal problem. Even some fire departments have difficulty in recruiting candidates because they fail the physical tests .

Where Can I Buy Harry Potter Scarves In Canada?

Internationalization

A few weeks ago, our new manager we talked about a project she had for the school . She comes to us from Le Carrefour High School, which has an international program. She has said she thought enter Pogramme international education within our walls. In a PD day, we were fortunate to receive Mr. Louis Bouchard of the League of International Baccalaureate Schools of Quebec ( SÉBIQ ).

After convincing the vast majority of teachers that the international program could be part of the curriculum of the College, he lacked the approval of the board of directors.

The next cohort entering St. Joseph's College students are studying under the rules of international education program.

Burning And Spotting A Week Before Period

Homework ...

According to a study published recently, most parents feel powerless to help their children with homework. Their failure comes, according to the study, because the terminology has changed or that the approach is different from that which was taught by parents.

It also discusses the role that should be given for homework: complete apprenticeships, or punishment for students who have not done what they should do in class - not that it is a widespread practice, but rather, the perception of students regarding homework. For me, homework is used to verify the concepts covered in class, or to explore concepts that will be discussed later in class, as well as readings.

But more disturbing is the fact that the study repeated the parents that they must be present to accompany their child's learning process, not to be teachers in the evening. This brings us to the fact that parents can have their child's success more to heart than the child himself. This observation is evident when we casually refer parents to know exactly what to do for a given job. I can understand that parents can feel involved in academic achievement, but if you want more than our children, which leaves the company?

Medicamal Majiuna Tendonitis

Attention Deficit

These two words are increasingly present in the world of education, but it does not always come from teachers who are trying to get rid of student problems, but parents who do not necessarily understand the reality in which the child lives.

This week, one of my colleagues met with a parent with a student to discuss it. The parent told her that her daughter suffered from attention deficit and it was, since few days on medication to solve this problem.

Where does this problem? Not that the child can not follow the thread of a conversation because he goes to the moon, but rather because he forgets to write down telephone messages, is more than one thing at a time, and therefore the misery has well accomplish the many tasks it performs. This situation does not reflect a deficit of attention, but perhaps more from a lack of interest in what happens.

This is a kid who needs to move and always looking to get rid of everything he does to be able to "chat" with the person next door. A young person who needs to be stimulated to follow with interest what happens in the classroom. A young man who sometimes forgets to raise his hand before speaking in class. A young, which sometimes expresses aloud the things that gain to stay silent. We do not speak here of an attention deficit, but rather a young person who fits very well in the generation in which it grows.

But as a teacher, is it our place to confront the parent and tell her that her young will cope very well, particularly when not on medication?
