Watch Purgatory House

" September, a month of fighting and remember "

month of September has brought us many memories of a dark period of Argentina. From the time that the disappearances were commonplace and no one could not demand or ask for the "disappeared" because as said Jorge Rafael Videla, head of the Argentine military government between 1976-1980

"Facing the disappeared, as such, the deceased is unknown. If the man appeared, he would have a treatment X, and if the disappearance was turning into a certainty of death, he treated Z. But disappeared can have no specific treatment: it is an unknown, disappeared, it has no identity, it is neither dead nor alive, he is gone. "

From that time until today there are issues to resolve.

AUSENC` AS

L e first memory was brought to us by Argentine Gustavo Germano, who came to Paris with his photographic exhibition AUSENCIA.
part of the 61st Conference of Human Rights which was held at UNESCO headquarters in PARIS, the Culture Foundation Peace and the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia in France have made it possible for a week the presence of "Missing."
Gustavo Germano lives in Barcelona and from there he started working on this project shares with us today.
This exhibition shows the before and after the Argentinian dictatorship between 1976 and 1983, but what's missing, what the photographer can not show with his camera is "the key" , which suggests that there is an obvious gap between these two photos of the before and after.
AUSENCIA seeks and finds in the complicity of his family reason. In his militant attitude, families of victims claimed by posing in front of the camera, instead he would have occupied. And in this vacuum, we see those who are not there.
"Absences" awakens an awareness of the brutality in the approximate or by making "visible" in the most esteemed: the daily, the dear, intimate. It is not necessary to be more exposed to military violence that has determined that this perpetual daily and marked by the absence of the loved one. As violent as a present 30 000 absences multiply exponentially and will reveal all those present today.
AUSENCIA is mainly an exhibition citizen or citizens who expose themselves. Wives, brothers, sisters-daughters, mothers, friends, citizens who one day went through the hell of violence, against them by the government of their country. Citizens who by their militant attitude and accomplice say I'm here for you to see who is gone, I exercise the practice of remembrance for that silence does not win the game, that's why I exposes me and let me shoot.

"Jorge Julio Lopez, two years without new" Break

The second memory is more of a struggle. It's been two years since disappeared Jorge Julio Lopez, and no governmental authority does not respond to this echo.

On September 18, 2006 Lopez was involved as a victim, witness and complainant in the trial for the imprisonment of the torturer Miguel Etchecolatz which he was to attend. The problem is that Lopez is not got a witness and no one has seen either.
In Paris, during its second year of disappearance, the association HIJOS Paris, met, September 18, 2008 demand, requesting that the court do its job, since it did not attempt to solve the disappearance of Lopez.

Jorge Julio Lopez disappeared as the 30,000 people who disappeared during the military government. The difference is that after 28 years, the military no longer in power and today Argentina is a democracy with a government that said to watch over human rights.

The fight continues, therefore, exposure AUSENCIA reflects a reality that still exists somewhere in Argentina. However, today there are people who can speak for those who condemn impunity and even if the authorities do not.
