I presented one of these episodes in my groups yesterday - one on education in Quebec. It talks of different thoughts of education in Quebec, in addition to seeing different educational settings - a primary school, secondary school alternative and a philosophy course in college .
There are several decisions on how teaching is done in Quebec since generations, judgments about how students act in the courts, judgments about what is expected from society. There was a comment from another, from a student who gave his vision of happiness.
I was a bit skeptical about the reaction of my students (after all they are only 14-15 years), but I was greatly surprised. Throughout the period I was watching their actions. I had a little time at the end of each period to discuss with them. Basically, they took comments completely opposite from each other. Some did not understand the message saying there were other ways to learn, live, to be what they are told since they were tiny.
I cons by saying that some of my students have gotten the message, I hope that this learning will be useful for the rest of their schooling, and even in early adult life.
